It is on right now! pretty cool. I’m sure there will be many more to come. **update: looks like this will be a weekly deal. pretty awesome.
Yesterday I found out I was lucky enough to be picked out of more than 4400 entries as the winner of the Distinction Magazine Get Hooked Up Contest! On May 2nd, I’ll be heading up to Harrisonburg, Virginia to meet with the publisher of Distinction Magazine (A Hampton Roads Lifestyle Magazine), Dogwood Black Clothing Company and Colby Trow (owner of Mossy Creek Fly Shop). After dinner, I’ll be staying at the Stonewall Jackson Inn only to wake up and fish with Mr. Trow himself on Mossy Creek for big browns and bows.
Can you say AWESOME?
I guess I’ll just keep you all posted 🙂
In other news, my son is awesome. The only thing that could make this trip better is if he was old enough to join me. Someday all to soon, I suppose.
So many things rush through my head, sitting next to this new little addition to our family. He surely is an amazing little man.
I started to think of music, and, if he likes music, what his journey will be. Then I thought, hmm, what are the big songs that influenced me through the years. I’m going to go WAY back on this one. I’ve been all over the place. I’m sure if I thought about it longer, I could come up with SO many more.

Something tells me my parents are imprinting their own experiences on their clothing choices for me.
For my mom, it is her childhood play toy, a Glow Bug.
For my dad, it seems to be his fly fishing addiction and the caddis larva.
Looks like we have a new contributor to the blog. David Dean has graciously offered up his literary talents and provided excerpts from his diary to give insight into the life of a newborn and growing baby.

My parents say they love me, but I can’t shake this feeling that they are constantly watching me.
